ABOUT THE PROJECT PARTNERS

GREEN AND BLUE DEVELOPMENT SOCIAL COOPERATIVE ENTERPRISE: The Green and Blue Development Social Cooperative Enterprise was founded by five young scientists to address a critical market gap: the limited utilization of research from universities, research centers, and inventors to create innovative, market-ready products and services. With a focus on promoting tourism and fostering sustainable economic growth, the enterprise bridges the gap between research and practical applications. The Social Cooperative Enterprise model was chosen for its ability to create employment opportunities for young, talented, but often underutilized professionals in rural areas. By integrating scientists, researchers, and experts into its initiatives, the organization empowers skilled individuals to contribute to innovative projects in green and blue development. The enterprise’s research team explores the interplay between sustainable living, policymaking, socioeconomics, and rural residents’ behaviors. Their work spans various projects, including green and blue development, mobility, climate action, and energy. A notable current initiative focuses on the sustainable development of fishing areas in Western Greece under the Operational Programme for Fisheries and Maritime, supporting economic growth and reducing unemployment in the region. Committed to advancing environmental sustainability and socioeconomic progress, the Green and Blue Development Social Cooperative Enterprise strives to improve rural communities’ quality of life by leveraging research, innovation, and collaboration.
